We have a great opportunity available to join Novus Cambria, our prison education provider at HMP Berwyn, working as a Personal and Social Development Facilitator. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Prison Berwyn is a Category C prison in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It accommodates a male population. It is the largest prison in the UK, opened in 2017, and is operated by His Majesty's Prison Service. The prisons aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe at all times. The prison's mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitative environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society

Role Responsibilities

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy (Essential)

Hold a minimum L3 qualification in relevant subject specific area (Essential)

Ability to speak fluent Welsh (Desirable, not essential)

Have experience in the relevant vocational area, or within a similar role

Have experience of working within a prison, further education or training setting

Have a recent track record of effective delivery in the subject specialism

Commit to fulfil delivery targets and plans, including achievement of KPIs

Achieve quality targets, including those related to retention and achievement

Produce accurate and timely reports

Provide a positive contribution to establishment planning & development processes

Demonstrate positive team working

Actively contribute to Novus Cambria's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of learners and staff

Actively contribute to Novus Cambria's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of learners and staff.

Actively contribute to the principles of Equality and Diversity within the prison.

Carry out such training, re-training and updating as may be necessary to fulfil the requirements of the post.

Ensure duties are carried out with full regard to Health & Safety legislation and to enable Novus Cambria to meet its objectives in providing a safe and healthy environment for all users.

To undertake other duties that Management may, from time to time, reasonably require, commensurate with the grade.
