* Ideal for experienced Mentors or aspiring education professionals
Are you passionate about supporting young people in alternative education?
Do you have experience working with pupils who present SEMH needs or challenging behaviour?
Are you looking for a rewarding role within a supportive PRU setting?
If you answered yes to the above then this Mentor role is for you!
The Role – Mentor
As a Mentor, you’ll be working closely with KS3 and KS4 pupils who have been referred to a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). You will provide 1:1 and small group support, acting as a positive role model, helping pupils manage behaviour, build resilience, and re-engage with learning. The successful Mentor will be calm, empathetic, and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
The School – Mentor
This PRU in Islington provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for pupils who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education. With small class sizes, excellent staff support, and a focus on therapeutic learning, the school equips students with the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Staff benefit from training, strong leadership, and the chance to make a real difference.
