Are you passionate about supporting young people to thrive? Do you believe in the power of positive relationships and confidence–building? Prospero Teaching have over 5 exciting opportunities for dedicated Mentors to join our team this September in Hook, Hampshire. The young people that we support are primary age up to post 16 and we are seeking Mentors who have experience of working with young people with anxiety, trauma, EBSA, SEMH and other additional needs.

As a Mentor, you'll work 1:1 with young people, helping them:

Build confidence and self–esteemEngage in activities that interest themDevelop positive, trusting relationshipsReintegrate into education, especially if they are currently out of schoolAbout you:

Strong interpersonal and communication skillsEmpathy, patience, and resilientExperience working with young people (preferred but not essential)Ability to commit to regular mentoring sessionsA genuine desire to make a positive impactPosition – Mentor

Contract or position start date – ASAP

Full time/part–time – Dependent on candidate availability.

Hours – Monday to Friday

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

A background in youth work/ support work is highly desirableMinimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schoolsExperience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is highly desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Enthusiasm, compassion and positivity are essential, along with a calm natureTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide references upon requestPossess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
