Description

Are you a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist provision in Telford that caters to pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed in education. This is a full-time opportunity to work closely with students across Key Stages 2–4, helping them to develop both academically and personally in a structured, nurturing environment.

About the Role:

*

Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges

*

Supporting students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social development

*

Assisting teachers with classroom delivery and differentiated learning plans

*

Helping create a safe, inclusive and consistent environment for learners

*

Collaborating with pastoral teams, therapists and other professionals on-site

Requirements:

*

Previous experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or vulnerable learners

*

Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students

*

A calm, patient and trauma-informed approach to behaviour

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one)

*

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

*

Team Teach, MAPA or similar de-escalation training

*

Background in youth work, mentoring, residential care or alternative provisions

*

Understanding of trauma-informed practice or ACEs
