Learning Support Assistant

Description

Reeson Education is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Putney who are seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

You'll be working on a 1:1 basis with a child in Year 5, supporting their learning, development, and engagement in the classroom. The pupil requires additional support with focus, behaviour, and emotional regulation, so a calm, patient and proactive approach is essential.

The Role:

1:1 support for a child in Year 5 with additional learning needs

Assisting with in-class tasks, providing encouragement and focus

Helping the pupil access the curriculum and stay engaged in learning

Working collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO

Supporting social and emotional development through consistent and nurturing support

Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children with SEN or in KS2 settings

Confident working 1:1 with pupils who may display challenging behaviour

Calm, empathetic and resilient approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for supporting young learners

Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
