Kitchen Assistant - SEMH School | £11-£13 per hour | September Start | Short-Term Contract
Are you a reliable and capable kitchen assistant looking to make a real difference in a school setting?
We're recruiting on behalf of a supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school for a Kitchen Assistant to join their team in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a meaningful role, supporting young people in a nurturing educational environment.
Hours: 10:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £11 - £13 per hour (dependent on experience)
Contract Length: 4-8 weeks initially, with potential to extend
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily kitchen operations and food preparation
Follow health & safety and hygiene standards
Serve meals to children and staff with a friendly, approachable manner
Take instruction from the kitchen lead while also showing initiative
Engage positively with students who have SEMH needs
About You:
Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is essential
Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Calm, personable, and confident when interacting with children
Reliable, punctual, and professional
Understanding or experience of working with young people with additional needs is a plus - but not essential
