Academics are recruiting for nurturing and well-resourced SEN schools in the Walsall area. We are seeking to onboard a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on an agency basis, for long-term opportunities. The Role:

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in both supporting and leading learning across the school. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including Autism, PMLD, and SEMH

Delivering targeted interventions and tailored learning activities to small groups and individual students.

Taking the lead in the classroom during planned teacher absence, providing structured and engaging cover sessions.

Working closely with teaching staff to differentiate learning resources, monitor progress, and contribute to planning and assessment.

Contributing to behaviour support strategies and helping to create a calm, inclusive learning environment.You Will Need:

HLTA status or equivalent (e.g., Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher).

Demonstrated experience supporting children with SEN in a school or specialist setting.

A confident, calm, and adaptable nature, with a nurturing and pupil-centred approach.

Strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
