Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Waltham Forest

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full–time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role:

We are working with a fantastic two–form entry primary school in Waltham Forest, who are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team in September. As a HLTA, you will be crucial in supporting the class teacher or covering lessons across the school to deliver high–quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high–quality support to students in various subjects for KS1/KS2 year groups.Assist in planning and preparing lessons and resourcesSupport students with learning difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis, particularly those who need the additional help.Assist the classroom teacher in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environmentMonitoring behaviour and students' progress and provide feedback to the teacher.Assist with extracurricular activities and school events.Provide temporary cover across the school, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons to ensure continuity in the absence of the regular teacher.Requirements for the ideal candidate:

A recognised HLTA qualification is desired but not essential, providing you have extensive experience in the role.Previous experience working in a primary schoolStrong experience working with children with SEN.Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual children.Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.The ability to work both independently and part of a team.A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.Why Join Us?
