£90–£110 per day

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with Autism?

TeacherActive is working with a leading specialist SEN school in South Liverpool to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to start in September.

The school is an outstanding specialist setting that provides education for students aged 3–19 with Autism and associated complex needs. The school offers a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment where pupils are supported through a highly personalised curriculum. The dedicated team promotes positive relationships, emotional well-being, and independence.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support students with Autism in 1:1 or small group settings

Work alongside teachers and specialists to deliver tailored learning plans

Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation

Use communication strategies such as PECs, Makaton, or visual aids (desirable)

Be a consistent, calm, and reassuring presence in the classroom

Requirements

Experience working with Autism is essential

Background in education, care, or support roles

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Positive, patient, and proactive approach

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
