Are you a recent Psychology graduate or hold a similar degree such as Counselling, Sociology, Childhood Studies, or Education and looking to start a rewarding career in education?

We’re recruiting for a number of specialist SEND schools across Leeds and Wakefield who are looking for graduates to join their dedicated teams this September. The schools cater for children and young people aged 4–19 with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting pupils with additional needs, making a genuine difference to their education and personal development.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with tailored learning activities

Assisting with communication, social skills, and emotional regulation

Helping students access a broad curriculum including creative, sensory, and vocational activities

Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive behaviour

Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to meet individual needs

What We’re Looking For:

Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Sociology, Education, or a related field (2:2 or above)

A genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs

Patience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situations

Willingness to undertake training in areas like Team Teach, Makaton, or Autism Awareness

Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals (paid or voluntary) is welcomed but not essential

What’s On Offer:

£101.40 – £109.04 per day, paid weekly via PAYE

Full-time, long-term placements across Leeds and Wakefield with potential permanent opportunities

Free CPD courses including SEND Specialisms and Safeguarding

A dedicated consultant to guide and support you throughout your role

Valuable experience for future careers in Educational Psychology, SEN Teaching, Counselling, or Social Work

Ideal for Graduates Interested In:
