Description

Do you have the enthusiasm, adaptability, and dedication to support students across different subjects and year groups?

We’re looking for a proactive General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, high-achieving secondary school in the Welwyn & Hatfield area. You’ll be working with pupils from Key Stage 3 through to Key Stage 5, making every day varied, challenging, and rewarding.

Why This Role Stands Out

This isn’t your typical classroom assistant role—you’ll be involved in a wide range of subjects, age groups, and learning needs. From supporting Year 7s as they transition into secondary school, to helping sixth form students with advanced coursework, you’ll play a key role in boosting confidence and achievement. The school prides itself on a supportive culture, professional growth opportunities, and a strong commitment to inclusive education.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing tailored support to individuals and small groups in lessons.

• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, accessible learning activities.

• Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to fully access the curriculum.

• Encouraging positive behaviour, participation, and independence.

• Helping prepare resources and maintain a safe, organised learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a secondary school or working with young people aged 11–18.

• A flexible, approachable, and patient attitude.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate learners.

• An interest in supporting a range of academic and pastoral needs.

Perks & Benefits

• Competitive daily rate (£90–£100).

• Term-time schedule (8:30am – 3:30pm) for work-life balance.

• Supportive staff team and access to CPD opportunities.

• A varied and fulfilling role in a thriving secondary school.
