Are you passionate about education and making a real difference in young people's lives? Prospero Teaching are looking for dedicated GCSE Tutors who are confident teaching Maths, English, and/or Science to support learners across the Basingstoke and Andover area.

About the Role:

We have a growing number of learners seeking catch–up sessions and additional academic support. Many of these learners are:

Looked After Children (LAC)Have Special Educational Needs (SEN)Experience Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challengesHave missed significant education due to anxiety or medical needsTutoring may take place in schools, homes, or community settings, depending on the learner's needs.

As a a GCSE Tutor you will:

Experience working with SEN learners, ideally with knowledge of global learning delayFamiliarity with EHCPs and how to implement them in a tuition settingA gentle and encouraging approach to learningAbility to make lessons engaging and accessible, using creative and visual resourcesSomeone who can build a trusting relationship and celebrate small winsAbout you:

Tutors confident in teaching two or more of the following subjects: Maths, English, Science (GCSE level)Experience working with vulnerable learners or those with additional needs is highly desirableAbility to build rapport and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning stylesReliable, empathetic, and committed to helping learners succeedPosition – GCSE Tutor (English, Maths, Science)

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools– ESSENTIALBackground in SEN education or therapeutic supportExperience supporting children in community or outdoor settingsTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

Hold right to work in the UKHold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new applicationProvide references upon requestPossess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
