EYFS Teaching Assistant

Start Date: September 2025

Weekly Pay: £455 - £480

Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham (B38)

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their crucial early years? Do you have experience working with children with additional needs? We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing EYFS Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with Autism in a warm and welcoming school in Kings Norton.

The Role:

You will be working closely with a pupil in Early Years who has Autism, supporting them both inside and outside of the classroom. Your role will include:

Providing tailored 1:1 support to help the pupil access and understand core curriculum content and phonics learning

Assisting with regulating behaviour and emotions, including supporting the pupil during time out of the classroom when needed

Collaborating with the class teacher to plan and adapt learning activities suited to the pupil's needs

Delivering learning content in line with the EYFS and KS1 curriculum

What We're Looking For:

Experience working in a classroom environment, ideally within EYFS or KS1

A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

An understanding of the Early Years curriculum and how to deliver it effectively

A caring, calm and patient approach, with a genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEND

Previous experience working with children with Autism is highly desirable
