Equine Studies Lecturer

Salary - £30,866.16 per annum

39-hrs per week

Our client seeks to appoint a full-time Equine Studies Lecturer to join their enthusiastic, vibrant, and hardworking team. As one of only two specialist horse racing colleges in the UK, this third sector provider delivers training for people in both racing and other equine industries. Located in the scenic grounds of a private estate near Doncaster, it achieved Ofsted Grade 2 for overall effectiveness and Grade 1 for both Behaviour & Attitudes and Personal Development in December 2022.

The successful applicant will be responsible for riding and stable management tuition for their College, horse care courses (Level 1 to Level 3). They will also contribute / support the College Show, dressage competitions, educational visits and Taster Days, some of these may involve weekend working.

It is essential that applicants possess a Level 3 Diploma in Horse Management or equivalent qualification, they also need to hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent), and be prepared to achieve an Assessor qualification. You should be highly motivated, an excellent communicator and be able to work as part of a team. You must have a willingness to work with young people who will present challenging behaviours, which at times can be stressful.

Relevant vocational experience in the Equine industry and of working in the educational sector with young people is essential.

Working hours are:

Monday - 8.30am – 4.00pmTuesday - Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm

There is a 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak each day.
