Description
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for lessons in areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, and Graphics
Support teachers during practical sessions and provide technical assistance where required
Maintain and oversee a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment in line with health and safety regulations
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on tools, machinery, and equipment (e.g. 3D printers, laser cutters, hand tools)
Monitor and order stock and resources, ensuring efficient budget use
Assist in the development of teaching aids or prototypes to support learning
Ensure proper storage, safe disposal, and handling of materials and chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience in a workshop or technician role (school setting preferred)
Good working knowledge of DT machinery, tools, and health and safety procedures
Strong organisational and time–management skills
A practical, hands–on approach and a willingness to support both staff and students
Relevant qualifications in DT, Engineering, or a related field are desirable
