Job Title: Disability Support Worker

Location Weymouth

Pay Rate: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join a dynamic school in Weymouth, providing care and educational support for children and young people with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities of the Disability Support Worker:

Support individuals with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities in educational and daily activities.

Assist with personal care, mobility, and adaptive learning strategies as needed.

Encourage independence, confidence, and social interaction.

Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement personalised support plans.

Monitor progress, report observations, and contribute to reviews of care and education plans.

Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in line with safeguarding policies.

Ideal Candidate Requirements of the Disability Support Worker:

Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in school, care, or community settings.

Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to challenges.

Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Knowledge of safeguarding and willingness to follow child protection procedures.

Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
