Cover Supervisor (Cardiff)

The School

Revised Recruitment Group are working with a busy but friendly school in Cardiff. The school supports pupils aged 3-11, including children with ALN. The school highlight the importance of growing through learning, while highlighting the importance of pupil wellbeing.

The Role

The role is to work as a Cover Supervisor within the school, supporting the National Curriculum across key stages in a 3-11 provision.

The successful candidate will get an exciting opportunity to work in a high performing environment. We will look to begin your placement in September after your online registration is complete.

Job description

* Develop curricular knowledge in line with the school requirements

* Apply the school’s behaviour management policy

* Set homework in line with the classroom Teacher requirements

* Administer class tests if requested

* Supervise the work of the Teaching Assistant, providing support if required

* Abide by and work towards all policies within the school, eg – behaviour management, health and safety, equal opportunities

* Carry out pre-prepared exercises in the short-term absence of the class Teacher

* Ensure students remain on task through classroom management

* Assisting students where required and ensuring lessons are delivered

* Collect completed work and pass to the class teacher

What you will need to succeed

* Have a passion for the education of children and working with pupils with learning difficulties.

* Have the ability to form effective working relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

* You will act as a positive role model for pupils.

Previous experience in schools is not essential as training will be provided. If you have had previous experience with supporting children or have an interest in doing so- please get in touch
