Cover Supervisor – Manchester (Full-Time, September Start)

Location: Manchester (South and Central locations available)

Start Date: September 2025

Contract Type: Full-time, term-time

Pay: £89–£100 per day (depending on experience)

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of our partner secondary schools in the Manchester area from September. This role is ideal for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to gain further classroom experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining consistency in learning when teaching staff are absent. You will supervise pre-set lessons and ensure pupils remain on task and engaged throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise lessons across various subjects and year groups in the absence of the class teacher

Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s policies

Distribute and collect lesson materials, and provide feedback to teaching staff

Establish positive relationships with students and support a safe, purposeful learning environment

Essential Criteria:

Experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, coaching or youth work capacity

A professional and resilient attitude, with the ability to remain calm under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions and routines

Educated to degree level or with equivalent relevant experience

Desirable:

Interest in progressing into teacher training or educational leadership

Experience working in secondary school settings

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
