Classroom Assistant

Are you committed to inclusive education and making a meaningful impact on the lives of children with additional needs? A warm and nurturing SEND school in Wolverhampton is seeking a compassionate and proactive Classroom Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. This long-term role offers the chance to contribute daily to students' learning, growth, and wellbeing.

Role Overview:

In this rewarding position, you'll support pupils aged between 5 and 16 with a diverse range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), and MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties). Whether working 1:1 or within small group settings, your role will be vital in helping students stay engaged, regulate emotions, and gain confidence.

You'll be working alongside a team of experienced teachers, therapists, and support staff who are passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can succeed.

Your Responsibilities:

Delivering tailored support to students during lessons and activities

Assisting in meeting EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) objectives

Promoting a calm, consistent, and structured atmosphere in the classroom

Using positive reinforcement strategies to support behaviour and emotional regulation

Encouraging independence, resilience, and self-confidence

Building strong relationships with both students and staffIdeal Candidate:

Kind, patient, and emotionally resilient

Genuinely passionate about supporting learners with special educational needs

Comfortable working with children who may have complex communication or behavioural challenges

A strong team player with the ability to follow guidance and use initiative

Prior experience in a special school or similar SEND/SEMH environment is desirable, but not essentialWhat You'll Receive:
