SEN Teaching Support - Southampton

We are looking for Teaching Assistants to join our client schools in Southampton, supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Primary & Secondary - SEN & Mainstream

Academics are seeking confident, caring, and motivated Teaching Assistants to help develop the social skills, emotional well-being, and mental health of students in our partner SEN schools. With a high demand for support staff next academic year, we are looking for enthusiastic individuals ready to start in September.

Our schools provide alternative education for children with:

Social & emotional difficulties, including anxiety and school refusal due to trauma

Specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia or dyscalculia

Autism spectrum conditions and associated needsAs a Teaching Assistant / Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work alongside trained professionals, including psychologists and therapists, with opportunities to observe and learn from their practice.

Start: September 2025

Role: SEN Teaching Support / Teaching Assistant / Mental Health Support

Location: Southampton

Rate: From £88 per day

Focus: Restorative practice, child mental health supportWho We're Looking For:

Confident supporting children who may be disengaged, anxious, or have low self-esteem

Degree in a related field or relevant experience working with young people is preferred
