Start Date: October 2025 (Interviews in early September)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Are you ready to make a real difference in young people’s lives? GSL Education is excited to be working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Fareham that is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone with strong behaviour management skills and excellent conflict resolution abilities to play a key role in supporting students who need additional guidance outside the main classroom or within the school’s resource base.

The Role:

Provide targeted support for students who have been removed from mainstream lessons or are based in specialist provision.

Help students re-engage with learning and develop positive behaviour strategies.

Work alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SEN teams to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Act as a mentor and role model, using patience and empathy to encourage progress.

About the School:

This forward-thinking secondary school in Fareham has a reputation for nurturing ambition and supporting every student to succeed. With a friendly, collaborative staff team and a strong focus on professional development, this school offers genuine opportunities to progress into roles such as Pastoral Mentor or SEN Support Specialist.

Staff wellbeing is a top priority, and the leadership team is committed to creating a positive workplace where colleagues feel valued and supported.

Ideal Candidate:

Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, sports coaching, or similar).

Confident in managing challenging behaviour and resolving conflicts effectively.

Resilient, patient, and able to build strong relationships with students.

Childcare experience is essential – transferable skills from other roles are welcomed.

Why Apply?

Permanent position with clear pathways for career progression.

Supportive school community that values creativity and innovation.

Regular CPD and training opportunities to help you grow professionally.

If you’re passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and want to join a school where you can truly make a difference, apply today with GSL Education, we’ll support you every step of the way
