Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant – Resource Base

Location: Bath

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate: £95 – £115 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working alongside a respected secondary school in Bath to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant for their on-site resource base. This role focuses on delivering tailored 1:1 support to students who struggle with emotional regulation, social interaction, and maintaining focus in the classroom.

This is a long-term opportunity with strong potential for extension or a permanent contract. The school provides a nurturing environment and a well-established support system for students requiring behavioural intervention. You’ll primarily support Key Stage 3 and 4 students, helping them develop confidence, independence, and self-regulation.

Role Responsibilities:

Supporting students in managing behaviour and building positive coping strategies

Providing tailored support to help students engage with learning

Encouraging emotional resilience, well-being, and independence

Collaborating with teaching and pastoral teams to implement effective support plans

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural or emotional needs

Sound understanding of SEND, particularly SEMH and/or Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)

A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour management

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
