Description

Progress Teachers are actively recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with different SEMH needs in a local mainstream Secondary School. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual committed to making a positive impact on students’ lives by providing high-quality pastoral care and behaviour support.

About the Role:

We are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support the personal development, behaviour, and welfare of students. The successful candidate will work closely with a set number of pupils from different year groups, providing tailored support to help them overcome barriers to learning, improve attendance and punctuality, and promote positive behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

* Pastoral Support: Provide effective pastoral care, supporting students’ emotional well-being and promoting a positive school environment.

* Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to manage and improve student behaviour, including monitoring high-risk students and liaising with parents and staff.

* Attendance and Punctuality: Monitor and support improvements in student attendance, producing reports and communicating with families to encourage positive habits.

* Student Progress: Assist in identifying underperformance and work collaboratively with the leadership team to plan interventions that support student progress.

* Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and external agencies, contributing to a cohesive school community.

* Leadership and Mentorship: Promote student leadership opportunities and encourage student voice within the year group.

What We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution.

* The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to promoting student welfare.

If you are a compassionate and motivated individual with a passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential, we would love to hear from you
