Description

Leader Education, we are recruiting for a Autism Support Assistant to support children from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 within a SEND school who cater for children aged 3 to 19 years old.

The successful Autism Support Assistant will have had previous experience working with young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as a genuine interest and commitment to helping them reach their full potential. This role is only suitable for candidate who drive. This is a great opportunity to develop a deeper understanding about working with children who have moderate and severe learning disabilities.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday 8:30 until 15:30 on a long-term basis.

Potential permanent contract after a qualifying period

The successful Candidate will:

Candidates will need an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or the willingness to obtain one

Provide one-on-one support to students with EHCP's

Monitor and manage student's behaviour and wellbeing

Support the development of social and emotional skills

Assist with personal care if needed

Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students

A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting young people with diverse needs
