Aspiring Teacher Programme South Manchester

Gain Classroom Experience Before You Train to Teach

Location: South Manchester

Position: Aspiring Teacher (Graduate Roles)

Start Date: Immediate starts available

Hours: Full–time or part–time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM)

Pay: GBP90–GBP100 per day

Overview

Are you a recent graduate thinking about a career in teaching? Whether you're planning to start a PGCE, SCITT or other teacher training course in the near future or you're simply exploring your career options Cover People's Aspiring Teacher Programme is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands–on experience in secondary schools across South Manchester.

We work with mainstream secondary schools in South Manchester, Tameside, Trafford and Stockport to offer graduates valuable, real–world classroom experience. You ll work as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or Mentor, gaining insights into behaviour management, student engagement, and lesson delivery.

Who We re Looking For

We re keen to hear from confident, enthusiastic individuals who:

• Have a passion for working with young people aged

• Are considering a future in education

• Want to gain practical experience before applying to teacher training courses

• Can communicate clearly, manage behaviour, and support learning in a classroom setting

Key Responsibilities

• Cover lessons in the absence of the class teacher

• Support engaging, interactive lessons

• Assist with classroom management and behaviour strategies

• Provide small group or one–to–one support

• Motivate and inspire students in a particular subject area

• Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Requirements

• Bachelor s degree (minimum); Master s or PhD also welcomed

• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Confidence to supervise classes and manage behaviour

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Cover People

• Previous experience working with children or in schools is a bonus, but not essential
