Location: South East London

Start Date: September 2025

Contract: Full-time | Term Time Only | Monday to Friday

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

Do you see yourself becoming an educational psychologist, specialist teacher, or child mental health professional?

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for graduates and aspiring professionals to gain hands-on experience supporting children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties access education, regulate their emotions, and build confidence.

About the Role

Supporting children aged 5–11 with a range of complex needs, including autism, ADHD, global developmental delay, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges

Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom and during interventions

Helping to implement personalised learning plans and communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, visual timetables)

Supporting emotional regulation and sensory needs using trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches

Working closely with SENCOs, teachers, therapists, and external professionals to deliver coordinated support

An aspiring educational psychologist, child therapist, or SEN specialist

Someone with a calm, compassionate and adaptable personality

A reflective practitioner who values inclusivity and understands the importance of pupil voice

Prior experience with children with SEND is a bonus, but not essential if you bring the right mindset and commitment

What You’ll Gain

Real-world experience of SEND support and inclusive education practice

Exposure to EHCPs, multi-disciplinary working, and early mental health intervention

CPD and training in areas such as behaviour management, autism strategies, and safeguarding

A strong foundation for further study (e.g. MSc Educational Psychology, PGCE, child development MScs)

The chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of pupils who need support the most
