Description

The KDS is a not for profit Karate association founded by the late Mitsusuke Harada Sensei MBE. The Herts Club has been running for many years in Tyttenhanger, set up a club in Great Ashby Stevenage in 2023 and has now set up another club at St. Peters Church Hall in Bushey.

Adult only Classes are held on Tuesday in Great Ashby starting 19.30 prompt
Wednesdays at 19.30 in Tyttenhanger and Thursdays at 19.30 in Bushey.

The sessions are run by a small team of dedicated KDS instructors (Full DBS /SG / Instructor insurance) and typically consist of a warm up, practises following the methods of the late Harada Sensei including Kata, Khion and Kumite with layered exercises to reach level appropriate targets.

The club joins in with regional sessions across Essex, London and Norfolk and goes to KDS courses within the UK and abroad.

Whilst training is not for competition, we have been described as the real deal and aim to keep the spirit of traditional karate as taught by the late Master Harada Sensei MBE alive and thriving and this is proven by our growing numbers and the dedication of our instructors and students.

I have recently joined after completing a taster session. The club has a lovely very welcoming community feel about it. You can see the teachers genuinely care and are dedicated to what they are teaching you , encouraging you and helping you to push yourself every step along the way. I would certainly recommend joining . It is great fun, and very rewarding and you enjoy what you are learning.

I totally loved the first session I attended. So refreshing. KDS is really cool, friendly and welcoming. I’m thinking of rescheduling my whole life to always show up for the Tuesday session in Stevenage. Thanks to Philippe for his support. 👏🏼

I attended a taster session and immediately had a great feel for the club and what it had to offer me . The teachers are very supportive and the other club members are very friendly caring and supportive too. You learn at your own pace and there is no pressure. I would highly recommend joining this club. I have personally found it to be inspirational.

HertsKDS is a very good karate club. My trial lesson went very well. The instructors were friendly and helpful and the teaching of the subject was very good. I would suggest that anyone who wants to learn Karate at a good club should come along for a free trial lesson to see if they would like to join the club.

When I wanted to learn martial arts, I started looking for a class. Luckily, I found out about this one. It only took me a couple of hours of my trial session, to know this is something special. I know how other martial arts classes charge around here, and often it’s for nothing worthwhile. No proper training. That’s why I genuinely appreciate what’s happening here. It’s affordable for anyone interested in learning martial arts, and you’ll receive a proper and professional training that upholds the true spirit of martial arts that ensures its future.
