Description
Administrator / London / Office Based / Charity Sector / Temporary to Perm / Start ASAP Our client is a well-established trade union based in Central London who are seeking a proactive and personable Administrator to join their Support Team. You will be the first point of contact for staff and visitors, helping ensure the smooth running of the building. This is a varied role and involves supporting day-to-day office operations, managing conference and meeting spaces, and providing front-of-house reception duties. Please note this is a fully office-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with a wide range of people in a dynamic environment.
Rate: GBP17 per hour (plus holiday pay)Location: London, Office-Based 5 days a weekOrganisation: Charity/Membership Body
Key Responsibilities:
Reception & Office Operations:
Provide reception cover and maintain a welcoming, professional front-of-house to visitors and staffAct as the first point of contact for queries on building-related issues, including those from tenantsResolve/escalate basic IT issues to ensure hot-desk areas are functioningHandle general enquiries and answer incoming callsMaintain stock levels of refreshments in the reception areaManage all incoming and outgoing post and courier arrangementsProvide support to the Office Manager in maintaining a pleasant and efficient working environment
Conference Suite Management:
Set up flexible meeting spacesProvide basic AV and IT support for meetings and eventsEnsure refreshments and supplies are available and well-presented for meetingsCoordinate catering orders and assist with layout and presentationReset meeting and event rooms between bookingsLiaise with internal and external users to confirm event details and requirements
Administrative Support:
Assist with diary management, meeting arrangements and travel bookingsProvide ad-hoc support to other teams as required
Personal Specification:
Proactive and resourceful when problem-solvingProfessional demeanour and appearanceEnjoys resolving practical issues and working with peopleComfortable with IT systems and able to relay basic functions to othersWorking knowledge of Microsoft 365Flexible and collaborative when working within a teamAbility to manage competing priorities under pressureStrong verbal and written communication skillsPhysically able to support room setup and other manual tasksWhat you need to do now
