Baritone Sax B&S LUXOR 1972-Fully Overhauled

Description

Low A baritone sax with rolled tone holes, great instrument with a powerful, robust sound, very easy to blow throughout the entire range.

General overhaul service was performed three years ago with Prestini Premium pads, corks, felps, cracked and replaced springs when necessary, calibrated and tuned, and most importantly, it has been played by me all these years as part of my instruments so it's well maintained and functional.


Unfortunately, I decided to finish with the Bari due to my permanent knee injury and future surgery on the waiting list.

It's already too much weight for me, and I can't see it unused in its case, hence my decision.

I hope it finds a good owner who will enjoy it as I have.

I bought the sax from the grandson of the original owner in Germany, who bought it new in '72 in B&S factory and used it in a big band.

I completely refurbished it and started using it only for recordings with my band; it never did live shows.

It has been customised for better performance and comfort, such as the added thumb rest, key risers on the left-hand keys, and reinforcement of the neck roll sustain bridge.

The sax also has some dings and dents typical of a baritone, left by the previous owner, which I couldn't remove, but they're minimal.

The case is very secure and comfortable to carry, well padded and very sturdy with leather handles and different positions straps to carry on the shoulder.
