Early Careers / NQT Teachers East Kent

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated new teacher eager to make your mark in the classroom? Do you want to inspire and support the next generation of learners as you begin your teaching journey? Academics in Canterbury are seeking passionate and dedicated Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) to work across a range of lovely primary schools in areas including Canterbury, Thanet, Dover, Whitstable/Herne Bay, Folkestone/Hythe, and surrounding villages. Whether you're looking for your first permanent role, a long-term placement, or flexible day-to-day supply to gain experience, we have opportunities to suit your needs and build your confidence.

This is a fantastic chance to develop your skills, work alongside experienced mentors, and make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum

Foster a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom where every child feels valued and supported

Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, adapting your teaching to meet individual needs

Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues

Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school's values and ethos

Take part in training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities

Contribute to the wider life of the school through clubs, events, and activitiesWhat We Are Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or due to achieve it this academic year

A genuine passion for inspiring and supporting young learners

Good knowledge of the primary curriculum and a commitment to continuous improvement

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A proactive, resilient, and enthusiastic approach to teaching

Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups

Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and a commitment to child welfare
