Description
Marketing Controller – UK Household Brand
A high–profile opportunity has arisen within a leading FMCG organisation for an experienced marketing leader to take end–to–end ownership of a well–known consumer brand and associated innovation pipeline. This is a confidential search for a commercially astute, brand–driven professional who thrives on strategic leadership and measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Branded Elements
Define and implement the strategic brand plan across core and emerging product segments, delivering against ambitious targets for revenue, profit, and market share.
Lead long–term innovation and new category expansion initiatives aimed at driving incremental revenue over a 5–year horizon.
Ensure strategic alignment across local and global teams, setting priorities and overseeing flawless execution.
Commercial Elements
Full P&L responsibility for the brand and associated UK portfolio.
Own and optimise annual and monthly marketing investment cycles, driving strong ROI and translating strategic plans into tangible commercial outcomes.
Marketing Execution
Lead the development and implementation of the full marketing mix across product, pricing, promotion, place, and packaging.
Ensure cohesion across all initiatives, including innovation, communication, digital, shopper, and commercial activations.
Evaluate and refine marketing activity using data–driven insights to enhance performance and brand equity.
Strategic Insight & Reporting
Lead insight–led decision–making through robust analysis of consumer, category, and competitive trends.
Innovation & Category
Drive the innovation agenda, identifying scalable opportunities across both core and adjacent categories.
Lead consumer engagement strategies, including digital, in–store, and cross–category activation.
Team & Cross–Functional Leadership
Directly manage and mentor a high–performing marketing team, providing clear direction, development, and support.
Success Factors to Consider
Significant experience in senior marketing or commercial roles within a complex FMCG environment.
Proven ability to lead large–scale brand portfolios with full commercial accountability.
Strong data literacy and the ability to turn insights into actionable strategy.
Demonstrated success in building, leading, and developing high–performing marketing teams.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a track record of influencing at a senior level.
A proactive, resilient mindset with a focus on innovation, ownership, and results.
Desirable Attributes
Passion for food and beverage categories, particularly with an interest in sustainability.
Global or regional marketing experience and a strong connection to purpose–led brand values.
Package and Contract
Permanent home–based contract with the requirement to travel. Strong renumeration package including car allowance, bonus (Paid), pension, and expensed travel.
