Counter Sales Representative / Driver

Description

We’re recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and dependable Counter Sales Representative/Driver to join a fast-paced trade counter team within the tools and fixings sector.

This is a varied and hands-on role that combines customer service, product advice, stock management, and delivery driving. You’ll be a key part of a small, friendly team, helping to ensure the counter runs smoothly and customers receive excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve and assist customers at the trade counter

* Answer telephone enquiries and process sales orders

* Provide quotations and follow up with customers

* Advise on the correct and safe use of tools and fixings

* Conduct stock checks and maintain accurate inventory

* Keep the counter and shop areas tidy and well-organised

* Operate a computerised booking-in/out system

* Make proactive sales calls to existing and potential customers

* Carry out local deliveries as required

Skills & Experience Required:

* Experience in a similar trade counter or retail tools environment

* Confident advising on power tools and fixings

* Mechanical aptitude or basic engineering knowledge is a plus

* Excellent customer service and communication skills

* Computer literate – experience with sales or stock systems is desirable

* Physically fit – the role involves manual handling and lifting

* Reliable, punctual, and well-organised

* Full UK driving licence required
