Description
Para- Anchor Tasman 15 (parachute sea anchor) with 15 ft diameter canopy, Anchor Line, and Anchor Retrieval Line. Originally developed and sold in Australia - now available from Ocean Safety UK.
Bought new several years ago and kept in dry storage on a 9m yacht. Never unpacked or used. For collection from County Durham.,.. or can consider meeting to deliver within reasonable distance as too heavy to post.
Suitable for Heavy displacement monohulls up to 10m, Light displacement monohulls up to 11m and multihulls up to 12 m.
Designed to hold the bow of a vessel head to wind in the worst storm conditions, greatly reducing the risk of broaching, capsizing or rolling.
Consists of 3 part system:
1. Carefully packed para-anchor comes in a compact zipped valise, with the original Australian owners Handbook giving recommended deployment and retrieval methods.
2. Anchor Line -100 metres of 18mm blue braid on braid flexible cable. Anchor line has a metal eye at each end and attaches to the para-anchor metal swivel.
3. Anchor Retrieval System which has 3 elements to it and two bouys - 1ms of chain which attaches to the apex of the parachute, 25 metres of 3-strand 12mm polypropylene floating rope (eye spliced to one end of support bouy) and 15m pick up line attached to red bouy.
