Therapy often works by helping to foster self-acceptance and by galvanising curiosity about the self and patterns of relating to others, increasing self-awareness and choice. I work in a collaborative, compassionate and supportively challenging way, attuned to the unique needs and personality of each individual client.

I'm a qualified person-centred therapist. This means that I'll really listen to you and explore with you how you make sense of yourself and your issues, as well as others and the world around you. I draw on elements of other major therapeutic approaches.

I've been a therapist for several years, and have experience of working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds and ages, and with a diversity of problems. In my work as a therapist, I also draw on a rigorous research background in which I've worked creatively with complex ideas and theories. I have a lot of life experience to draw on, and over twenty years of professional experience helping people within a range of social support settings. I also have several years of experience in teaching roles within higher education. I've a passion for supporting others to fulfil their potential.

I offer in-person therapy (locally in Hull) as well as online therapy (Hull and Anywhere).
