2002 Porsche 986 Boxster 2.7 finished in Lapis Blue with Light Grey heated sports seats and immaculate 18” turbo twist wheels with decent tread on the tyres. In my opinion, one of the best colour combinations around. I’ve owned the car for a little over 18 months, covering around 1,300 miles, and recently spent over £2k on a suspension refresh and service, which has transformed the way it drives. It has been garaged the entire time I’ve owned it and only driven on sunny weekends.

For a 23-year-old car with just over 100k miles, it’s in exceptional condition, with only the odd age-related mark, which I’ve photographed. Although the car has had 11 owners, it comes with a massive folder of history and receipts, showing past owners, service records, V5s and MOTs dating back years, along with piles of invoices detailing what has been done and when. This is a genuine late 986.1, unmolested and lovingly maintained, exactly as it left the factory. The hood is in great condition, doesn’t leak, and the rear plastic window has no cracks.

The car is being MOT’d on Tuesday, and I don’t foresee any issues as everything on the last advisory list was completed during the service in May. The work carried out at that service included: Spyder Performance front axle refresh kit, new front coil springs, motorsport wheel alignment, new starter motor, minor service (air filter, oil filter, Wagner 5w40 synthetic oil and Wagner micro ceramic additive), removal of the power steering rack with replacement/repair of pipes, and removal/cleaning of the throttle body. Other work I’ve had done under my ownership includes replacement of the coil packs, repair of wiring to a coil pack, and a respray of the front bumper as it was the only thing letting the car’s appearance down. The only note from the last service was a slight oil weep from the cam cover gasket.

Looking through the history, I can see the drive belt and water pump were replaced a few thousand miles ago. There’s no record of the IMS being done, but my Porsche specialist had no concerns when I asked.

This is a genuine, unmolested classic 986.1 Boxster, which would make someone a great weekend toy or a daily driver. Selling as I’m not using it as much as it deserves, and a business venture means I’ll have even less time to enjoy it. The private plate will be removed after the MOT, and the original plate (KL02 KFU) will be reinstated. Based just outside Edinburgh – feel free to ask me any questions.
