These poles are made of coir. This is the perfect material to promote growth of your climbing house plants and will support plants like cheese plants and philodendrons.
You can simply 'plant' the pole in the potting soil next to the root ball of your plant and firm the soil around it. If you have plants such as a cheese plant or devil's ivy that will produce air roots then you can use string, pins or ties to attach the plant to the pole. Using mossing pins work very well and do not restrict the growth of the plant itself. These can be pushed in at a slight angle and the tiny barbs at the bottom of the pins will hold to the coir.
