Description
Aloe Vera Plant (2) - 40cm Height
Aloe Vera is a beautiful plant for indoor, or outdoor, planting. This moisture-rich plant thrives outdoors year-round only in the very warmest regions (zones 9 to 10). In other areas, aloe grows best indoors as a houseplant, with some gardeners moving it outdoors for summer. Indoors, place aloe in a spot with bright indirect light during the warmer seasons of the year.
This houseplant needs warm temperatures, so it doesn't do well outside during the colder months in the UK. Between around 13-27 degrees Celsius is a good rule of thumb. In the summer months, placing your Aloe Vera outside is fine, but do bring it back into your cosy living room once the nights start cooling off.
Temperature. Aloe plants like it warm, so their ideal temperature is between 55 degrees Fahrenheit and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. If it gets too cold, the leaves will turn yellow or pucker. These plants also don't like drafts, so ensure they're not in a spot where a door or window is constantly opening and closing
It is critical that you place your aloe in a window where it will receive a minimum of six hours of sunlight per day. Without extended, direct light, your succulent will begin to stretch and lose its attractive, compact form. It may topple over as the stem grows weak.
The leaves will fill with a gel that can be used for treating wounds to the skin, burns, sunburn, bites, stings, rashes and psoriasis when applied directly to the affected area.
Not only does it look great, they are also great air purifiers, particularly for benzene and formaldehyde.
It is an easy to look after plant that requires a weekly watering in the summer for good growth and down to a light water once a month in the winter if left in cooler conditions, though as it is a succulent, they can tolerate dry or drought conditions also. Perfect house plant for all year round and can be left to survive your annual holiday without any attention required.
After with the right care, the plant will be a good size and begin producing its own pups that can eventually be removed, once they have their own roots as an indoor plant and replotted in cacti soil for others to enjoy.
