Large, dense, cascading shrub that grows tall - a real show stopper !
ONLY £8 each !!
Easy to grow, tolerates most soil types and happy in sun or shade.
This variegated type has cream / green foliage.
Fruit and flowers have many culinary uses.
Large flat heads of long lasting, fragrant, creamy white flowers are followed by small black elderberry fruit, high in vitamins.
Fruit can be frozen and is perfect for making syrup, juice, wine, jam, chutney, pies, muffins, tarts etc.
Flowers are ‘famous’ for making elderflower tea, wine, champagne or soft drinks.
For a delicate flavour, add a couple of sprigs when cooking fruit for tarts and crumbles, (remove them at the end).
Stir some flowers into cake or muffin mixture to give them a light, sweet scent.
Elderflowers can be fried in a light batter until crisp !
