If you’re looking for a serious piano with a twist this could be an ideal choice - this is an excellent quality piano that would suit a professional musician, serious amateur or perhaps a very lucky beginner. Made in 2000 this has just been fully reconditioned with a unique and stylish dark blue matt finish, tuned and regulated and is now ready for it’s next home, with a lifetime of music to give. Having been played only lightly this is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a modern U1 for a much lower price than brand new models. The Yamaha U1 is the benchmark modern upright piano with its stunning looks, big, bold and bright tone and excellent responsive action. The ’N’ model was designed specifically for the European market, and was built in England in Yamaha’s Milton Keynes factory.

Tone and tuning

Beautiful rich and full tone but slightly more ‘European’ sounding - clean and crisp without any harshness but an added warmth sometimes lacking in Yamahas. Excellent dynamic range. It has just been tuned to concert pitch (A=440). This piano includes the middle 'celeste' pedal for very quiet practising where necessary. Video demo available on request.

Keyboard and action

Keyboard is in perfect condition and the action has just been regulated so plays smoothly across the whole keyboard with a medium weight. Very expressive with fast repetition, and lovely to play on.

Hammers and strings

Virtually no wear in the hammers and strings are in excellent condition too - see photos.

Case

This case design on the U1N is slightly different to most U1s but equally appealing. Stunning new matt finish ‘Deep Sea Blue' - this piano will look fantastic in a modern or classic styled home. The piano is on casters and includes an adjustable stool with a reupholstered felt seat to add to the unique aesthetics.
