Home Tuition

I teach pupils in the comfort of their own homes. Working in pupils’ own homes has helped me to create a relaxed, fun environment. I teache adults and children; however when teaching children, visiting the pupil's home has also helped me to maintain a good relationship with parents.

Friendly & patient tuition

I maintain that people tend to learn more if they like their teacher. For this reason, one of my central aims is to be highly approachable and patient with pupils.

Proven Teaching Strategies

I have spent the last 20 years carefully developing and fine-tuning my teaching strategies. I use clearly formulated goals in order to monitor the effectiveness of my teaching techniques. Making reference to clearly defined goals enables me to ensure that I am now able to achieve my aims in a fraction of the time it took me when he began teaching 20 years ago.

All Styles Taught

I teach all styles of music, including Classical and Pop. I teach reading music as well as teaching pupils how to build piano accompaniments for themselves. I have found that many pupils who are taught to read music do not actually learn to read properly, but simply memorise their pieces over time. I have therefore gone to great lengths to develop teaching strategies that ensure pupils who wish to read music are actually learning to read and not simply memorising pieces.

Specialising in Learning Difficulties

I have found that only around a third of pupils possess strong natural musical gifting. Working with pupils who struggle to learn musical skills can be a challenge. However, I have always maintained that the true test of a good teacher is whether or not she is able to teach the least gifted pupils.
