VINTAGE FRENCH LETTER RACK, DECORATIVE WOOD & PEWTER TRIM BOOK, CORRESPONDENCE, PAPER RACK, SENECAL FABRICANT FRANCAIS, 31x25cm - REDUCED!

One of several items from a vide maison in Bar sur Aube in the Champagne region, this is a charming, lightly used letter rack or book, paper, correspondence rack I think dating to around the 1970s.
Constructed from a wooden frame with sheet pewter decorative panels with a romantic theme depicting a young man writing and a young woman reading, it has a slot for storing letters, books or paper and still has the original label attached.
In good, sound, vintage condition with light wear but no damage - please examine photographs carefully for condition.
The photos best show the condition of this.
It was quite dirty and dusty on acquisition and has just had a light clean.
The wooden surfaces are varnished and sound with just a little rattle to the back panel within the frame.
The letter slot consists of a protruding wooden box which is secure.
The upper part of the back panel and the front of the box have very thin sheet pewter panels which I think are pressed over the man and woman relief images.
The pewter panels are secure but have a little peeling to the edge of the lower one.
The interior is in used but sound condition.
There is a hanging hook to the rear and an original label marked:
