Description
Service Care Legal are working with a London borough council who are seeking a highly skilled Senior Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join its legal services team. This senior role will play a vital part in supporting the authority’s work by delivering high-quality legal advice and guidance on a broad range of contractual and procurement matters.
ROLE: Senior Contracts & Procurement Lawyer
LOCATION: East London
RATE: £50-55ph LTD (£48.46ph PAYE inc. holiday pay, £43.24ph PAYE exc. Holiday pay)
CONTRACT: 36 hours per week, initial 3 months with possibility of extension
Please note that this would require office attendance once per week.
Main Duties:
Provide expert legal advice on local government contracts and procurement law.
Lead on drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex contractual documentation.
Advise clients on procurement processes in accordance with legislation and regulations.
Handle a varied caseload with significant levels of responsibility.
Offer supervision and support to a junior contracts lawyer.
Candidate Profile:
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx) or equivalent.
Substantial experience in contracts and procurement law, ideally within local government.
Strong understanding of public procurement rules and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to manage a wide-ranging workload with minimal supervision.
