Large Magnificent 17th-Century Spanish Baroque Revival Oil Portrait Painting
Brief Description:
This is a beautiful, very striking Oil Portrait Painting from the 19th century.
The title of the painting is 'The Little Fruit Seller'.
It was painted by the listed German artist Gustav Walther (German, 1828-1904), who worked for the Courts of Saint Petersburg, Gotha, and Dessau.
The first example of The Little Fruit Seller was painted by the 17th-century Spanish Baroque artist Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617-1682). The original work is currently housed in the Alte Pinakothek Museum in Munich.
I have visually compared both works and, I must say, this is an outstanding tribute to the original.
Mounted within the superb quality original gilt-swept frame, and offered for sale in a ready-to-hang condition.
