Chowdhury’s Tuition Centre offers tuition for students in Years 4 to 11. We started preparing for the 11+ entrance exams for grammar and independent schools in 2012. From 2022, we introduced GCSE maths and English tuition. From the very beginning, we enrolled a segment of our students who were guaranteed to qualify for the entrance exams, or we would refund their total tuition fee for Year 5. Our guaranteed students have consistently been successful, as we know what we do and have learned from our mistakes. It is a very rigorous process, and not everyone is suited for this onerous journey. For super-selective grammar schools, such as QE Boys, Henrietta Barnett, Wilson's, the Latymer, Tiffin Girls, etc, students must score between 85% and 95% to qualify, which is a daunting task. We do not want to create false hope, which is why we select only those whom we believe have a realistic chance of qualifying in the exams.

Chowdhury's Tuition Centre is so confident in its structure, methods, and track record that, from this year, 2026, all new Year 5 students will be guaranteed qualification for the Grammar School entrance examinations or a refund of their tuition fees.

Our GCSE Maths Candidates are also guaranteed to receive at least one level above their school's expected grades. If we fail to deliver, we will refund the total tuition fees.

While we teach from Year 4 to Year 11, our main 3 courses are outlined below:

1. Year 4: Foundation 11+ Course

This course lays the foundation for our Year 5 course, building students' basic skills and techniques while developing a strong work ethic for exams. Our course fee covers all teaching materials and books, and we cover all subjects ( English (excluding creative writing), maths, Verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. Our Year 4 course highlights are:

a. FACE-TO-FACE small group (maximum 7 students per group);
b. From September to July or November- July, term time only;
c. 4-5 hours of homework a week;
d. Regular assessments and evaluation; &
e. End of term progress reports.

2. Year 5: Preparation 11+ Course

All new students to this course are guaranteed to qualify for the 11+ entrance examinations. So, if we accept your child, he/she is guaranteed to be successful, or you will receive your money back. All students attend 3.5 hours (the fee is £100) per week. For more information, please visit our website.

a. FACE-TO-FACE small group (maximum 7 students per group);
b. From September to July or November- July, term time only;
c. Students attend two lessons a week;
d. 8-10 hours of homework a week;
b. Regular assessments and evaluation; &

3. Year 11: Guaranteed GCSE Maths

This intensive course prepares students for the GCSE Maths examination. Our Year 11 GCSE Maths preparation course guarantees every student will achieve at least one level above his/her school’s expected grade. If a student fails to reach it despite regularly completing his/her homework, we will refund the entire tuition fee. Please check the Guaranteed Success or Full Refund section for further details. We cover the following exam boards: AQA, OCR, Edexcel and City and Guilds. Students attend 1-2 lessons per week, depending on their expected grades.


Our teaching team includes my son, Rivu (Law, University of Oxford; Master's in Law, UCL; QE Boys) and I (Chowdhury). I worked as a university lecturer for over two decades, including two top 50 universities worldwide. I studied at top universities on four continents, including Columbia University, New York, USA; Indiana University, Bloomington, USA; Monash University, Melbourne, Australia; and Heidelberg University, Germany.
We prepare pupils for 11+ entrance exams for many grammar and independent schools, including Queen Elizabeth’s Boys, Henrietta Barnett, Westminster, St Paul’s, The Latymer, North London Collegiate, Haberdashers' Askes, Dame Alice Owen’s, St Albans, St. Michael’s Catholic, etc.

We cover all the 11+ subjects: English (including writing), Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. We only teach English and maths for the GCSE candidates.

We accept Year 5 pupils only after they have completed rigorous assessment tests, which take approximately 3 hours to complete. Your child will be assessed in all 11+ subjects, and the fee is £100.

Our rates are:
• Year 4 Weekly £55 (2 hours- group lessons)
• Year 5 Weekly £100 (3.5 hours- group lessons)
• One-to-one £100 per lesson (1.5 hours)

We provide tuition only at our custom-made facility in High Barnet (0.3 miles from High Barnet Tube Station).

Finally, we hold Enhanced DBS Certificates (previously known as an extended CRB).
