Description
Original 90s Tascam Portastudio 424 mkII 4 track cassette tape recorder.
Mixer section fully working, all channels, sends and outputs tested by myself.
Tape section partially working - rewind and forward controls work, but the play/record buttons will not make the tape spin. This leads me to believe that the issue is that the belt drive has come loose or broken. Replacements can be bought online for £15-20 and it should be a fairly easy fix for someone with the time and knowledge required.
Other than this, the unit is in great condition for its age. Very clean and with minimal crackle on the faders.
Sounds great for lo-fi indie, hardware techno or for getting that Mk.gee guitar sound.
