Description
The Milab VIP 60 is an re-make of a legendary microphone. The Milab VIP 50, The same company spent years in taking this microphone to another level with the same wonderful tone as the original but they half the self noise level.
This microphone is in a very good condition and only been used an handful of times. It sounds marvellous, open warm, spacious and natural but still wonderfully flattering in its smoothness.
This is what the famous music magazine Sound on Sound said 3 years ago - 37 years after the introduction of its predecessor, the brand new VIP-60 boasts an updated capsule and optimized circuitry to bring the sound of the classic VIP-50 into the 21st century.
How do you reinvigorate an iconic microphone without losing the “magic” in the process? The Milab R&D team used a careful and meticulous approach which included an 18-month testing period with feedback from a number of highly skilled engineers in Sweden, Germany, the UK and the US. The result is a microphone with a superior performance when compared to its predecessor – most notably a significant reduction in self-noise – but fans of the VIP-50 will still recognize the unique sound with its ribbon-like warmth and sparkly highs – and, of course, the extremely smooth off-axis response. “It’s one of those mics that just seems to tune out the bad qualities of a source, without resorting to cheap tricks like exaggerating the top end.” Sound on Sound (Gear Of The Year 2022)
