G PLAN MODULAR SOFA ARMCHAIRS VINTAGE RETRO 50s 60s 70s 2 3 SEATER BRANDON TEAK
Nantwich, Cheshire
£750
Description
An extremely rare four piece modular sofa designed by E Gomme for G Plan in 1953. The design is part of the Brandon Range for the festival of Britain and marks G Plans first foray into the minimalist post war furniture market inspired by Scandinavian designs.
A highly sought after, collectable range with strong investment value.
The sectional sofa consists of four separate pieces. This allows it to be configured as a three seater sofa or a two seater sofa with two separate chairs.
Even more rare is the condition they are in. Rarely used, they retain the original red velvet style fabric with button back finish. One slight tear as shown.
The upholstery is complimented by the angular sleek lines of the exposed teak or oak frames and legs. The upholstery is a crimson red.
The chairs are sturdy, solid and in excellent clean condition, the seats are comfortable and supportive. Some very light ageing to the wood as expected.
