power transformer for uk to usa, gamatronic LVS,3kva, 240 to 120vac, voltage stabiliser

here is a very heavy duty power transformer and voltage stabiliser,
gamatronic lvs 3kva which is 2.4kw in real power.
i bought it at auction for myself as it says computer voltage stabiliser and had a 3 pin plug on the inlet, the outlet was an industrial socket but i expected it to be 240v in and out.
however after testing i found it is a voltage dropper from the 240v to 120v so was probably used for american tools rather than computers as it came from an mechanical repair garage.
i changed the output socket to a uk 3 pin so if using for american appliances you can swop it or do a fly lead with an american socket
it is not portable as it,s extremely heavy and has a massive transformer in it, i have cleaned it inside and checked connections, i dont have anything 120v to test it other than a multimeter.
dont confuse this with a 110v power tool transformer as they have 2x 55volt live wires.
the voltage stabilising side protects from surges and spikes and smooths the output intended for sensitive appliances like computers. what little info i found online says it does not alter the frequency so remains at 50hz for a uk supply.
i found a smaller version on a foreign ebay site, untested at $650
