Description
The subject of this blackwork embroidery is a decorative fish. The term blackwork comes from the work being completed in one colour only - black. The decorative style is a combination of straight stitch and cross stitch. The background colour of the material is pale beige set on a cream mount within a black frame. It was worked more than thirty years ago. The frame measures 12 inches in width and 9.95 inches in depth. It is in very good condition. Could be hung, for example, in a bathroom or a study, or even a kitchen.
