I’m seeking a fiddle player to join Rex Hooper & the Gunsingers—a vintage country and Western project inspired by the golden era of 1950s country and the dust-blown spirit of the old West.

Think Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Marty Robbins, Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells—songs about heartache, justice, and long rides home. We're building something real, raw, and rooted in the sounds of a time when every note told a story.

🎶 Looking For:

A tasteful fiddle player with a feel for Western swing, honky-tonk, old-time, and early bluegrass.

Someone who can weave in sweet lonesome lines, foot-tapping shuffles, or fiery breakdowns where needed.

Backing vocals a plus, but not essential.

Must be based in or around Glasgow.

I write and perform original songs as Rex Hooper, drawing heavily on 1950s country & Western traditions. You’ll find live performances and songs on Instagram and YouTube.

This is not modern country—it’s heartbreak, porchlight ballads, and cowboy gospel.
